Arctic Mosquito Killing System

The Arctic MKS is an ingenious system that selects and kills biting female mosquitoes within a radius of approximately 30 meters. The Arctic MKS makes a mosquito-free environment for man and animals a reality.

It began when the American scientist Alvin Wilbanks wanted to protect his newborn baby daughter against mosquitoes. However, it took 16 years before a product was developed that could limit to a minimum the annoying effect of mosquitoes. He began with an extensive study into the environment and behaviour of various types of mosquitoes. Only later was Wilbanks able to focus on what ultimately resulted in a unique product, the MKS. In developing this ingenious system – which is now patented – Wilbanks enjoyed the technical support of NASA experts.

By now there are already tens thousands of devices that use this method throughout the USA.  Since the end of 2004 MKS is also sold in Europe. The Arctic MKS has the European CE quality mark, which guarantees the safety of the electrical system.

How does the Arctic MKS works

The Arctic MKS uses the natural hunting techniques of the biting female mosquitoes. These mosquitoes are attracted to body temperatures of humans and animal and to the carbon dioxide (CO2) exhaled by humans and animals. The device simulates body temperatures and emits a limited amount of CO2. As soon as mosquitoes approach the MKS, they are vacuum sucked into the interior and are subsequently electrocuted.

The advantage of the Arctic MKS is that only female mosquitoes are lured and killed. They are actually the ones responsible for biting people and animals. A female mosquito lives for about one month in which she lays around 3000 eggs. Her hunting ground encompasses an area with a radius of approximately 45 meter. The mosquitoes in this area multiply daily and hardly move elsewhere.

By killing only the female mosquitoes, the entire population dies off. Selective and effective.
